Homemade Rose Water.

Image
I love using natural products in my hair and also on my skin. Lately I've been doing some research on Rose Water and its benefits. Photo credit: myself. Both white and red roses were used. Here are some of the benefits of Rose water that I've came across: - Maintains the skin PH balance. - Hydrates, revitalizes and moisturize the skin - Has anti- inflammatory properties - Can be used as a facial toner and makeup remover Read here for more:   http://food.ndtv.com/beauty/10-benefits-of-rose-water-you-need-to-know-1239785 Since my face can become very oily face, I'm hoping this water can help. Rose water can also be used in your hair, aids in moisturizing the scalp and hair follicles. Here I would test driving this on my hair, which is in transition into Locs (10 mnth and going strong), most times my hair becomes dry and needs a little moisture, water really don't do the trick unless I add some essential oil/s. October Favorites.

Colour pop : Limbo, Lip liner: Eggplant Pros : lasted long, matted appearance, complimented my skin tone. Cons: Color pop used on its own can be very dry on your lip, rubs off easily, moisturize lip before applying. - Organic Flax seed: I've been using this baby to make fruit smoothies or punch. Flax seeds are filled with Omega 3, fiber and antioxidant.  - Clay face mask : used to cleanse my pores after I've used my face scrub. After using leaves my face feeling smooth and my pores looking clean, there's also i tightening feeling to my face. What were your October or current favorite item/s?

Sea Adventure: Sandy Island Pt. 1

Image
My 1st time to the amazing little island, the beach was wonderful and the view was breathe taking. On the island there were birds nest from a cliff area, an old ship wreck, disposed sea urchin and other sea creature. I did my first snorkeling (not too far), ate my 1st sea egg (sea urchin) raw and cooked. Grateful for this experience . Sea Adventure: Sandy Island Pt. 2

Where do I even start. My 2nd trip to Sandy Island was by far amazing than the first, enjoy reading my experience, I do hope you can experience this as well. Read about my 1st trip here : http://coconut3z.blogspot.com/2016/10/sandy-island-pt-1.html As usual, I woke at 7 am preparing myself for the trip, arriving on the jetty in Sauteurs at 9 am sharp. Food items were bought, including drinks and other essentials for our trip. On my 1st trip, we had used a small speed boat ( a small fishing boat with a powerful engine- West Indian term ), but on this trip ( Talk about upgrade) we went  with a slightly bigger fishing boat (Pleasure boat). This was good because the sea was sort of choppy that morning. To by pass the feeling of being sea sick, we gave jokes (silly stuff) on our way up. Finally touch down on Sandy Island, we cleared all items off both boats; then food preparation started. Some of the guys decided to go spear fishing/ free diving just off from the island; for the

I HATED MY BODY!

Image
This is one of many touchy topics, here i will share my personal story and how i was able to combat this. :) I HATED MY BODY!!  Yep, that was me, note i said was . Back when i was much younger, society painted a perfect body image in my head, the perfect girls with no bruises, cuts, scars, flaws face, no stretch marks, curves for days & booty to envy. As i got older, my fear of wearing short clothes or clothes that reveled a little of my insecure body parts was evident by my mother, even wearing swim suits was a problem. As a child i was your typical tom-boy, hence the cuts over cuts on my knees, cuts or bruises on my hands or legs, the stretch marks on my butt and upper thigh got larger and more noticeable as i aged, my breast grew bigger, in that i started noticing stretch marks there also (the breaking point). Although this happened, gradually, step-by-step i learned to love my body for what it is- all my flaws and imperfections. No one can be perfect, no one

My Carnival Preparedness- Helpful tips.

Every year we wait for this, we planned for this and of course we make memories to last a year until we can do it all over again- Spice mas 2016. 1. SAVING- Whole year I've been save for this moment. There ain't no way I'm going to be partying with little to no money or would I be begging anyone for spending money, ummm that's a no-no. Unless you decide to take a loan, by all means, IS YOUR MONEY! 2. PLANNING - I've notice that planning can help make whatever you do more easy and less frustrating. Plan which fete's you would be going to. Create a Budget, where by you know that you won't be going over your spending or as we call it spending wildly and to safe guard yourself that there are some coins or papers left in the bank. Just saying. Song-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdiM7xKFNdA 3. FETE'N CREW - Do you have a fete'n crew? Or maybe you like to fete alone, no scene; as Dash said (2016 Groovy Monarch) Carnival is me alone, on the road

Hiking: Levera National Park

DARING FRIENDS MAKE THE EXPERIENCE 2X BETTER.  Left picture: walking down to Bathway (popular beach on the northern side)   Right picture: while walking, the rain decided to bless our adventure, we hop or begged for a ride to avoid being soak.  Taking in the view after the sun decided to peek out from behind the clouds. Here's an idea- let's swing like kids again.  While swinging on the mangrove root, being all funny and happy. Then this happened, an unexpected fall. Lesson learnt, never swing on a mangrove root- Nah!! I'll def be doing it again.  The hidden gem of Levera. While exploring our surrounding, guess what they found a jelly fish (Portuguese man-of-war). Heated debate on whether it was an actual Portuguese man-of-war.
